AI-Powered Accident Report System Unveiled by Dubai Police

Dubai Police Introduces AI-Powered Accident Report System to Improve Efficiency

Dubai Police have recently announced the introduction of a cutting-edge AI-powered accident report system to streamline the process of dealing with minor incidents. The goal is to save time and resources for both motorists and law enforcement officials involved.

This innovative pilot scheme allows drivers to electronically submit accident data to the police, eliminating the need for them to personally visit a police station or for officers to physically attend the scene in certain cases. The unveiling of this high-tech strategy took place at Gitex 2023, showcasing Dubai’s commitment to embracing advanced technology.

Maj Gen Khalid Al Razooqi, the director of the AI department at Dubai Police, expressed excitement about the development, stating, “We are currently developing an advanced AI system that can assess and report on minor accidents. This system is in its pilot phase and will soon be launched officially.”

The primary aim of this AI-powered solution is to reduce the time spent at accident scenes, prevent traffic congestion, and enhance the overall experience for both drivers and law enforcement officers. By implementing AI technology, manual processes can be reduced by up to 50%, according to the Dubai Police force.

Motorists can conveniently record an incident through the DubaiNow or Dubai Police apps, receiving a police report via email or text message for insurance claims. However, it is important to note that in the event of a major accident, emergency services should still be alerted.

Maj Gen Al Razooqi elaborated on the process, stating, “The driver needs to provide the required information such as vehicle details, driving licenses of the parties involved, and submit pictures of the damages. Dubai Police will then generate the accident report and send it to the drivers for further processing with insurance companies.”

In case the drivers involved fail to reach an agreement on liability, they are advised to contact Dubai Police at 999. Subsequently, the police will determine the party at fault. Alternatively, all parties can report the incident at the nearest police station.

Additionally, drivers have the option to report traffic accidents at select Enoc petrol stations in Dubai. These stations include Al Rasheed Street in Al Mizher, Al Khail Road near exit 44, Arabian Ranches, and Al Khail Road near Al Barsha Police Station.

Dubai Police’s AI-powered system aims to revolutionize the process of reporting and handling minor accidents, ensuring efficiency and a seamless experience for all parties involved. With the implementation of advanced technology, Dubai continues to establish itself as a leader in embracing innovation and enhancing public safety.
