Emirati hospitals to transport 1,000 Gazan cancer patients from UAE

President Sheikh Mohamed has ordered the treatment of 1,000 Palestinian cancer patients in UAE hospitals following the collapse of Gaza’s health system due to Israel’s war in the area. The patients, of all ages, will receive medical care in the UAE as part of a humanitarian operation. This decision came shortly after the arrival of the first group of 1,000 injured children in Abu Dhabi for treatment. Many of these children require complex medical care for injuries such as lost limbs and burns.

Accompanied by family or guardians, the patients will be receiving treatment at various hospitals in the UAE, including Burjeel Hospital, NMC Royal Hospital, and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City. President Sheikh Mohamed announced the ‘Gallant Knight 3’ humanitarian operation on November 5 to provide support for Palestinian civilians in Gaza. Coordinated by the Ministry of Defence’s Joint Operations Command, the operation involves collaboration with the Emirates Red Crescent, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, and Zayed bin Sultan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation.

The UAE is also in the process of setting up a field hospital in the Gaza Strip and is calling for doctors and medical workers to volunteer for relief efforts. So far, the UAE has sent 51 planes carrying 1,400 tonnes of food, medical, and relief supplies to Gaza. The country continues to show its commitment to supporting the Palestinian community in the midst of the ongoing crisis.

As part of the efforts to support Palestinian civilians affected by the conflict in Gaza, the UAE is working to provide medical and humanitarian aid. This is a crucial initiative that highlights the UAE’s dedication to aiding those in need and addressing urgent medical needs. The commitment to setting up a field hospital, as well as the provision of medical supplies and treatment for patients, demonstrates the UAE’s proactive response to the humanitarian crisis in the region. The UAE’s continued support for the Palestinian community is a testament to its commitment to humanitarian efforts and medical relief in times of crisis. This humanitarian operation, led by President Sheikh Mohamed, serves as a vital lifeline for those affected by the conflict in Gaza, providing much-needed medical care and support during this critical time.
