Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan received a warm welcome from her adoring fans at the Sharjah International Book Fair as she discussed her book, ‘Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible’. Known for her candidness, Kareena shared her journey through motherhood and the inspiration behind her book.
“When I was offered the opportunity to write this book, I knew that there was no one better than me to provide an honest account of motherhood and my pregnancy journey,” said Kareena.
She further added, “I have shared a personal and up-close experience of pregnancy in this book. Becoming a mother for the second time made this topic all the more perfect.”
During her first pregnancy, Kareena enjoyed the experience so much that she continued working until her ninth month. She expressed her excitement about the platform the book provides, allowing her to openly discuss her daily activities and emotional behavior during pregnancy.
Kareena believes that her book can be relevant even 15 or 20 years after becoming a mother. It captures the feelings and emotions she went through, including weight gain, moments of not feeling like a woman, and moments of discomfort.
As someone who has undergone various body transformations, from being a chubby girl to achieving a size zero figure, Kareena emphasizes the importance of self-love and acceptance of one’s body type.
“I am a Punjabi girl who loves food, and I was weighing just 45 kgs, and to be that, it’s really tough,” she revealed. “I had my first son, Taimur, and then Jehangir. I lost weight, gained weight, but I love myself whatever my body type is.”
Switching to her film career, Kareena remarked that every character she played is special to her. “Some characters will be closest to you and some might not be. But everything I have done has a little bit of me. I just love acting, as I come from a family that is so passionate about film.”
When asked about her dream role, Kareena replied, “I don’t have a dream role, but my dream is to keep working and acting forever.”
Kareena also praised female actors in the Indian film industry for making bold choices and contributing to female-oriented and led stories. She added a touch of humor by mentioning that although she doesn’t cook, her husband Saif Ali Khan is an excellent cook.
Expressing her admiration for the UAE, Kareena expressed her desire to visit the country with her children. She mentioned that Taimur’s friends often show him pictures of Dubai, and he eagerly wants to experience this lovely place.
