Private sector in UAE to have National Day holiday announced

The UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has declared that the National Day weekend will now be a paid holiday for private sector workers. The announcement was made on Twitter by the Ministry, stating that December 2 and 3 will be paid public holidays for private sector employees. The Cabinet had previously confirmed a two-day break for National Day. Commemoration Day will occur on November 30 and National Day, which celebrates the country’s formation in 1971, is set for December 2 and 3. The UAE will mark its 52nd National Day with official celebrations at Expo City Dubai, which will feature a show telling the UAE’s vision of a sustainable future through performances and storytelling. The official ceremony will be broadcast live on December 2 on all local TV channels, as well as on the official website www.UnionDay.ae. These celebrations come as the country celebrates the unification of six emirates to form the UAE, a vision led by UAE Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The nation commemorates those who lost their lives in the line of service on Commemoration Day. This year’s official ceremony promises to feature innovative technologies and projections, showcasing the UAE’s rich heritage and its commitment to overcoming climate challenges.
