UAE hospital director replaced by Sheikh Mohammed due to subpar performance

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has taken action to address the poor performance of Al Kalba Hospital by replacing its director. The move comes as part of an overall evaluation of government services in the UAE.

The Director General of the Emirates Health Foundation has been tasked with overseeing improvements at the hospital in the coming month. The identity of the new director has not been disclosed.

This announcement follows Sheikh Mohammed’s recent revelation of the best and worst government services in the UAE. The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure service center in Ras Al Khaimah also received a poor evaluation.

Sheikh Mohammed has given a 60-day period for the worst-performing services to improve, with the possibility of termination or modification of employment contracts for non-compliance. He emphasized the importance of positive interaction with the public through service channels for government officials.

A total of 124 government service centers were assessed using the UAE’s 6-star rating system, with evaluations conducted through in-person visits, call centers, and digital services. The Emirates Authority for Identity and Citizenship and the Ministry of Interior received praise for being the best performing services, with six centers achieving the maximum rating.

Sheikh Mohammed also acknowledged the improvement of Al Dhafra’s center, which went from a four-star rating to a six-star rating in just one year.

These changes reflect the government’s commitment to providing high-quality services to the public.(news source: The National)
